What kind of projects do you work on?
Institutional and commercial buildings across Arkansas — state government, K-12 school districts, higher education, healthcare, municipal and civic, and corporate headquarters. Roughly a third of the practice is renovation and retrofit work.
Do you work statewide, or only in Little Rock?
Statewide. Our office is in Little Rock, and our projects reach from Fayetteville and the University of Arkansas to Jonesboro, Pine Bluff, Hot Springs, and every state park system location we've been engaged on.
What project sizes do you take on?
We work across a wide range — from single HVAC or electrical replacements to $100M+ new construction. The sweet spot is institutional renovations and additions in the $500K–$25M range where MEP engineering is a meaningful line item.
Are you a design-build MEP firm or a sub-consultant?
We're a specialty MEP/FP sub-consultant. We join architect-led or GC-led design teams as the named MEP engineer. Typical delivery methods are design-bid-build and CM-at-risk.
Do you carry professional liability insurance?
Yes. Every registered professional engineer on staff is covered by the firm's professional liability policy. Certificates of insurance are provided during onboarding to any design team or owner.
Are you registered for federal work?
Yes — Pettit is SAM-registered for federal contracting. That said, the bulk of our work runs through state, K-12, higher-ed, healthcare, and municipal channels in Arkansas rather than federal procurement.
Can you work in the architect's Revit model?
Yes. Our BIM practice is built around Revit MEP with full coordination in the architect's model — clash detection with structural and architectural, constructible documents from the model, and an as-built model at project close.
